Leaders Have Got To Live It!

Example, faith 4 Comments

Hey Friends,

We have been talking about spiritual war for two weeks and we must live out our faith for all to see. Paul told others, “to follow him as he followed Christ.” We set the stage for them – speed of the leader, speed of the pack. This is part of the job of the shepherds.

My hope and prayer for you and me is that we are digging deep into the life of our Lord. We must be filled and controlled by the Holy Spirit. You and I must spend some extra time in the prayer closet seeking the heart, mind, and will of our Heavenly Father. People look to us to chart the course and only Christ can lead us. So, I hope you are seeking Him with all you have.

I pray your faith is growing and expanding exponentially. I pray as you lead, speak, and share, the anointing is felt by all. We need men and women of faith that walk in the power of the Holy Spirit. This will enable us to speak by faith and lead people to make a difference they never thought possible. This is our calling, our job, our heart. I pray you are walking under an open heaven. I pray you are having the most significant times with our Lord that you have ever had. I pray you have the glory of God on you as Moses did when he came off the mountain.

Gang, the most important thing we can do as leaders for those we lead is to stay close to Christ. When Peter was close he was bold, but when he was separated that is when he denied! Walk, lead and speak by faith and in the power of God and we will see biblical ministries explode and souls converted to Christ.

How is your walk? How is your faith? How is your attitude? Time to get close.

Just a thought.

Awesome words. Thanks for the encouragement, Pastor Chris. I really agree that as leaders and to be leaders we must spend extra time with God, just like the example of Peter.

I want to say before I write the comment I see today, that for the past two days I have had to write these comments more than once because my computor has wiped them. this hasn’t happened since I have started following Pastors blog except once. This week it’s happened three times!!!!! So I went back to pencil and paper, the old fashioned way, if it happens again I’d like to see the enemy wipe my paper! Let him that stole steal no more Eph.4:28. So I will work with my hands, I will write first not type.

My Comment: Today in light of Pastors blog and a book on spiritual warfare there is an interesting observation set forth.

Paul said to follow him as he follows Christ. Mentally I am taken to realize that as Paul follows Christ…the front of Paul is “armoured up” by Jesus, but his back is wide open, so if those that follow Paul are also following Christ as closely as Paul then he needent worry about his back. Those that follow and stand beside him can protect him.

I see the Armour of God as Jesus. As leaders we are to teach those in our sphere of influence well, not for glory, but for necessity for the safety of the whole. Possibly, namely one’s own unprotected back. In Roman days, this arrangement is called the phalanx, but in order for it to work, unremitted trust in those behind and beside us is unquestioningly needed.

So let what we teach and live be of the quality of God in both Spirit and Truth. So teach well, as Jesus has said that He comes in the Volume of the Book, so also shall we, it is a must. Friendly fire is possibly just as deadly as the enemies arrows, so convince those around us by example of testimony and by the Holy Spirit the importance of the investment and why leaders invest. We are all needed and necessary from the top down.

Moreover, if we teach by example from being in the closet(Mt6:6 & SS 2:14) of prayer, pass on to all the importance to watch and pray. We are held up to the standard of the Word by those behind and beside, whose eyes watch and whose spirits pray, which in turn keeps our feet from slipping or stepping off course.

Another benifit of giving all we have been given to those around us is it will instill their willingness to encourage us if we become discouraged and consider the temptation to quit the faith and turn our backs to the enemies front line. Which he would seize the opportunity to use it for target practice possibly delivering a final death blow. Those around us and the One in front, keep us moving foward,as sometimes we keep them moving foward. which brings me to Eph 6: 18-20:
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

Jesus Christs ways are full circle…total safety and provision to take the battleground.

Following up on what Sabrina commented, I noticed the open back in Ephesians 6 myself. One explanation is that Roman soliders weren’t allowed to retreat – they’d face execution. But the other is more appropriate for God’s people. Read Isiah 52 especially around 10-12. In verse 12, Isiah writes: “… For the Lord will go before you, And the God of Israel will be your REAR GUARD.”

    How cool is that!

  4. sabrina Says:

Tom, to be sandwiched between our Lord is the ultimate in cool and if He be for us who can be against us and prevail. That is HOPE in this world. s
