HOPE

Uncategorized 6 Comments

Please be gentle, as this is my first experience in exposing myself in the blogosphere.  This is not easy as I am trying to slowly enter the 1990’s.  For those of us who are technologically challenged this is a huge leap.  Most people don’t change until they are forced, and I feel forced – cause I love you and I want to be a voice for hope in your life.  This world can always use more hope, especially in our current culture, crash of the economy, and wonder about the future.

God pulled me out of the pit of drugs and destruction in 1982 for the sole purpose of helping others.  It is the drive of my life.  Hope is the reason for this blog, web site, and the book I wrote.  Our society sucks at giving hope, but God is full of hope.  My blog and my prayer for you is that several times a week as you read and comment you will receive help and encouragement.  I hope you read my book and it, too, is a help for your journey.

Whether you are a member of the church I pastor or just a cyber-junkie, I hope to be a help.  Below, how about adding some good quotes or verses on hope.  With the millions on the web just maybe we could team up and add some value.

Love ya, and hope to see ya in cyber space!

Pastor Chris

Great to see you up and running, I know you will be a blessing in this medium. I encourage those that have not had the opportunity to read “The Climb of Your Life” to do so and bring along your highlighter you will want to return to your guide often for encouragement.

Hey Chris, I love the book on CD and I am looking forward to the blog. So, do you think blogs are the wave of the future or a passing trend?

Pastor Chris, I am just now beginning to read “The Climb of Your Life” but already know it will be an inspiration to me. I have enjoyed your sermons for nearly a year now and FPC has been the first place of worship in a long time where I felt at home. The energy is incredible – as you would say, “boggle the mind”. I feel I have always struggled throughout my lifetime. I always thought that I couldn’t face anything more difficult than where I had been. I know now, you can go to a new level of difficult without even knowing how you got there. You speak of hope in your message. In service, you have often spoke to my heart when challenging us to “live in the spirit”. While it wasn’t a proud moment, I gained the courage to do what I needed to do in order to begin my journey of “living in the spirit”. Grace sometimes leaves me in the process, but I pray for God’s guidance and strength every second of the day it feels like. I love knowing that in God’s eyes I am perfectly imperfect. But I also know that I have a long road, better yet, climb ahead of me to live as God wills and do God’s work. In service on Sunday, 11/23, you spoke of faith. That faith wasn’t just about believing, but that faith required A-C-T-I-O-N. I’m in it. I’m in it for God – and this time, I will devote myself to remain in it, even when the climb gets steep. Thanks for your message. Thanks for your spirit. Thanks for your passion and love for JC. You and the FPC family are in my prayers daily, and together, we will pursue God’s glory in His Kingdom and that all who are lost will come to know Him as well. Love in Christ, Jessica
