Longest Leap Yet!

Independance Day, July 4th, celebration, salvation 1 Comment

Hey Friends,

Please pray with us because this weekend we will attempt our longest leap of faith and ministry yet. We will not be at our Pellissippi Campus, but will move all of our services to Pellissippi State Community College for one huge 4th of July celebration. We are praying for 10,000 to be in attendance. We are also praying for our greatest harvest of souls ever.

The extravaganza will be from 5:00 – 10:00 p.m. on Sunday. It will be a blast for the whole family. In the middle of the festivities we will bring everyone together for a gospel presentation. I am praying for Pentecost II!

I pray that the Lord will bind the devil as we take what is his – the souls of people without Christ. I am praying our faith will be strengthened. I am praying we will experience the Lord like never before. I am asking for the momentum to explode on our church.

I pray you have a great 4th. As we celebrate our nation’s Independence Day, let’s remember that 2,000 years ago Jesus declared independence from death, hell and the grave for all who want it.

Together we can make a difference.

See ya Tuesday. Be safe and blessed.

Passion Week!

Easter, celebration, witness No Comments

Hey Friends,

This is a great week to seek the Lord. In all recent surveys in America, more people than ever before do not see Easter as a “religious” holiday. You and I are watching the secularization of our society! Scary? The America we grew up in is rapidly being replaced with a secular state. Some, to be sure, celebrate in this news and yet the bulk of Christ-followers are broken and want to make a difference.

My challenge to you is to seek the Lord while He may be found. I love Easter. It is a great time to seek the Lord and celebrate the historical fact of the resurrection from the dead by Jesus. This was God’s AMEN to His truth. Romans 1:4 says, “Who was declared the Son of God with power by the resurrection from the dead…”

If you are a Christ-follower it is time to celebrate! As we worship and God transforms us we become more of what the world needs. That is when the Lord can open their eyes to the joy and peace that is found in the heart of the redeemed. Let us reflect the glory and goodness of God in the way we live. Remember that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is alive in you. You have the power to walk in freedom.

Easter is a great time to invite people to church with you. In this season they are just a little more open. Now is the time to ask again. Go ahead and step out in faith and ask. What can it hurt? This could be the time God has been working toward in them.

Let’s prepare our hearts to celebrate that our Lord rose from the dead, no matter what the world does. We get to go to heaven because of His sacrifice and resurrection. Praise His Name!

He is risen, He is risen indeed!

Love,

Pastor

Happy Birthday, Faith Promise!

celebration, legacy 1 Comment

Hey Friends,

Today is the 15th birthday of Faith Promise Church. Thank you, Lord! It is going to be a great weekend. Tonight we are going to have a celebration dinner with the members that were adults when the church first started. I am so grateful for these people. They have hung in there through so many changes and have given and served so faithfully. I believe God has been honored and I am grateful.

There is no way to have a great ministry without great people serving a Great God. We will also honor the person who, by faith, started the church -Terry duPont, and his wife, Arlene.

One of the things that I have learned after almost 30 years of ministry is that people leave! It seems to me that most people stay at a church on the average for about six years. The folks we honor tonight have been at Faith Promise for 15 years. Very impressive. I am sure that when they called me as the Pastor they had no idea what they were getting. These folks have been faithful even though today we look nothing like we did when the church began. At the core of the core, they care more deeply about souls than they do style. We would not be anywhere near where we are today if they had not been committed to the vision. Like everyone who is saved, we owe a debt to those who went before us.

It is my prayer that when February is over we will all give God the glory and we will be grateful for our legacy. It is also my prayer that we will all be excited about the next ten years as we encounter a decade of difference.

Yours to count on,

Pastor Chris
