ON TOP OF THE WHITE POWDER

Uncategorized 4 Comments

Hey Gang,

It’s a marvelous Monday.  Many of you are hard at work and I normally would be too, but today I am skiing in Colorado with some good friends from church.  It is beautiful here and we are going to have a blast.  It will be a few days until my next post, but I will be praying for you.  It is going to be a great week and God is still on the throne.  See you later this week.

Love,

Pastor

HOW COULD I BE SO STUPID?

Uncategorized 3 Comments

Hey Gang,

The title is a little negative considering self-talk, but today it’s well deserved.  You won’t believe what I did.  Several days ago, a nice lady named Betty posted a comment and a question about a transcript for the weekend message I gave.  I told her to go to the church website and listen to the message and that we did not have any transcripts.  There was one small problem: I missed the fact that she was deaf.  More than a little oversight! I told a deaf lady to listen to the message.  How horrible!!  A good friend noticed it and alerted me to the blunder.  So to Betty I make a PUBLIC APOLOGY.  I’m glad you come to FPC and we have great deaf interpreters.  We all do stupid stuff so let’s not try to hide it, but come clean.  Here it is Betty!  Love you and all the deaf folks who worship at FPC.

AN AMAZING DAY

Hey Gang,

Today, Tuesday January 20, is an historical day.  If you are like me, you wanted to and got to see the inauguration of our first black President of the United States of America.  It proves that in America you can make it and nothing can stop you from achieving your full potential.  You are your limiter, not your color, race, or background.  I asked an African-American friend today how he felt watching our new President being sworn in.  He said, “I didn’t vote for him but I wept as I watched.”  I can’t know how blacks felt today, but regardless of how they voted most were impacted at a deep level.  It was a great day for race reconciliation.  I hope you are praying for the new President no matter how you voted.  I’m praying for revival in the White House.  What is holding you back from being all you can be?

Pastor Chris

FAITH VS. FEAR

Uncategorized 4 Comments

We live in a negative world and without constant attention and work we will follow suit.  It is easy to be negative, and to live by fear.  Look all around you, read your Bible!  It is very easy to flunk the faith tests that God allows to come our way.  Both the Old Testament and the New Testament are filled with followers of God failing faith and living by fear.  IT MUST NOT BE SO WITH YOU.  How will you respond? Will you keep giving in a down economy?  Will you remain faithful to the Lord while others bail?  Will you stand for Jesus in a world that has chosen to bow to idols?  As usual it comes down to a choice on your part.  Where do you stand?  “As for me and my house we will serve the Lord.”

U 2.0

Uncategorized 9 Comments

Hey Gang,

We are in one of the best sermon series we have ever had at F.P.C. called, U 2.O.  It is about change.  Not superficial change, but supernatural change.  If you have not heard any of it, I would challenge you to listen online at www.faithpromise.org.  I believe every Christ-follower should be marked by constant change.  It should be a part of our make up…growing more like Christ daily, don’t you agree?  In what area do you need an upgrade?  In what area do you need to come clean?  Where could you use some transformation? God is ready, willing and able!  Are you tired of hiding?  What you cover, God will uncover.  He likes the light.  Are you ready?  Prov.28:13-check it out.

What do you think?

Betting On The Future

Uncategorized 5 Comments

Wait a minute Chris, I don’t bet.  Sure you do, we all do to a certain extent.  How you view the future and more specifically, your future, determines what you see and what you will do.  It’s a bet.  I’m betting big on faith and the future.  2008 was an amazing year but I expect, look forward to, and bet, the future is even better.  So I’m planning on exciting things happening.  Some people have a “not enough to go around mentality” while others have an “abundance mentality.”  Which one do you have?  I believe there is more than enough for us all, so I look to this year with great anticipation, how about you?  With all the voices we hear daily that are overtlynegative, I want to be one voice “crying in the wilderness.”  It will be all right.  Bet on the future, and bet on you.  You and God are a majority and you can overcome more that you can imagine.  “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”  What miracles are you planning for?

See you at the top of the mountain.

Pastor Chris

What a way to start the New Year

Uncategorized 7 Comments

Hey Gang,

Sorry no new posts in the last week, but me and the family were on a vacation.  We took a cruise to the Caribbean.  It was great.  Best vacation ever and a great way to start the year.  I am excited and filled with faith that God will help us over the mountains we face in ‘09. We all face mountains, but Jesus said we could “speak to the mountains and they would be cast into the heart of the sea.”  That is exactly what I am going to do for me, my family and church.  I believe God is doing some of the greatest miracles we have ever seen.  Do you believe with me?  What are you believing for yourself, for your family?  Come on with me and let’s race into this amazing year that God has given us.  I’m praying for you!

Love,

Pastor Chris
